The Amsterdam pilot project focuses on increasing the collection of clothing, household linens and leisure (hotel linen) textiles at city level by involving citizens in a series of hands-on educational experiences, lectures and expert interviews that provide entry points for iterative learning. The Amsterdam Pilot aims to create an exchange system platform. string(1162) "The Circular Plastics Taskforce (CPT) is the result of an unprecedented collaboration between consumer product companies, packaging producers, industry associations and public organizations. Its goal is to help build a circular economy for post-consumer plastics in Canada by creating a better alignment between the recovery and recycling value chain and end markets for recycled resins. It was founded by Cascades, Danone, Dyne-a-Pak, Keurig Dr Pepper Canada, TC Transcontinental and the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC), who serve as the Steering Committee. Phase 1 of the CPT aimed to map the value chain and to hypothesize ways to improve processes, equipment or technology in sorting centers and processing facilities in order to create a greater synergy among stakeholders, as well as to carry out preliminary simulations to test these hypotheses. Phase I was financed by Environment and Climate Change Canada, Eco-Enterprises Québec and the six founding partners. It was concluded in early 2021. This conference will present the CPT’s unique collaborative model, highlight some of its key preliminary findings and present its next steps."

string(1212) "As the key driver of the transition away from a carbon-based economy, lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are used in a broad range of applications, including automotive, energy storage and consumer electronics. The world needs supply chain innovations to recycle these batteries locally and more sustainability to meet the rapidly growing demand for critical and scarce battery-grade materials and close the loop in this market. Li-Cycle is a clean technology company aiming to address this challenge and to support the industry in meeting the rapidly growing demand for critical battery materials. As one of few companies focused solely on recycling Li-ion batteries, the company has a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities of the industry, as well as the necessity for proper end-of-life logistics management. This presentation will explore the urgent need for creating a local and sustainable critical battery materials supply chain, while addressing the economic and sustainability challenges of Li-ion battery recycling, demonstrating how Li-Cycle Spoke & Hub Technologies are able to help overcome these industry challenges and close the loop for critical battery materials around the world."

– Enhancing the Value of the Textile Industry: The Case of Amsterdam
REFLOW is an EU-funded project under the H2020 program that seeks to understand and transform urban material flows, to co-create and test regenerative solutions at business, governance and citizen levels, with the aim of creating a resilient circular economy. This platform will track and trace materials, promote the achievement of circular flow and cycles, and incentivise business opportunities by promoting and mapping businesses involved in material recycling. www.reflowproject.eu
– Circular Plastics Taskforce (CPT): Collaborating to Build a Circular Economy for Post-Consumer Plastics in Canada
The Circular Plastics Taskforce (CPT) is the result of an unprecedented collaboration between consumer product companies, packaging producers, industry associations and public organizations. Phase I was financed by Environment and Climate Change Canada, Eco-Enterprises Québec and the six founding partners. It was concluded in early 2021. - Recycling of Multilayer Packaging
Changes in market conditions since COVID-19 have caused companies to review their supply chain. Sustana Fibers, which produces pulp at its Lévis plant, chose multi-layered containers to replace used office paper. What changes are required to implement such a new recycled fiber supply chain? This conference will highlight the most recent data on the quantities of multi-layered containers generated, recovered and sorted through curbside recycling, as well as the perspectives of this recycling initiative, the first of its kind in Canada.
- The Role of Recycling in the Supply Chain of Critical Battery Materials
As the key driver of the transition away from a carbon-based economy, lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are used in a broad range of applications, including automotive, energy storage and consumer electronics. The world needs supply chain innovations to recycle these batteries locally and more sustainability to meet the rapidly growing demand for critical and scarce battery-grade materials and close the loop in this market.
