Recognized for her leadership and expertise, Ms. Pinsonnault seeks to spur the growth and competitiveness of businesses. In addition, she is responsible for formulating and implementing the strategic plan as well as initiatives such as “Propulser nos manufacturiers innovants,” which was deployed between 2016 and 2020. Since September 2020, she has headed up the “Productivité innovation” initiative, the purpose of which is to drive competitiveness, accelerate the growth of Québec businesses through productivity and innovation and encourage more businesses to move forward. Clients are always the focus of her concern and she is determined to make a difference.

Sylvie Pinsonnault held the positions of Vice-President, Venture Capital, Investment Funds and Tax Measures and Vice-President, Strategic Initiatives and Management Committee Advisory Services before being appointed Senior Vice-President, Strategies and Business Solutions in August 2019. She is responsible for formulating the Corporation’s strategic plan and its action plans and strategic initiatives. She also has the responsibility of implementing the client experience and an integrated approach to the development of business solutions. In addition, she directs public relations, government relations, external communication, marketing and oversight activities. She is a member of the Management Committee and the Investment Committee. She also co-leads the transition committee tasked with restructuring Investissement Québec.

From 2011 to 2015, Ms. Pinsonnault served as Vice-President, Investment Funds, Business Immigration and Mandates at Investissement Québec. Before then, she had held the post of Vice-President, Investissement Québec Subsidiaries since March 2010, following a three-year stint as Director, Corporate Initiatives, Policies and Products in the Credit and Risk Management Division.

With an MBA in International Business and Export Management from the City University Business School in London, UK, Ms. Pinsonnault was named CEO of FIER Partners LP when the $180-million investment fund was created in 2005.

From 2002 to 2004, she was Senior Portfolio Manager at Investissement Québec. Previously, from 1996 to 2001, she served as Manager, Structured Finance at CAE Electronics, where she oversaw project financing, investment and risk management, primarily outside Canada. She has also held other executive positions at Scotiabank, Export Development Canada and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.
