Marie Fall holds a PhD in Geography from Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in Geography from University of Dakar. Since August 2007, she is a Professor-Researcher at Université de Québec in Chicoutimi, where she teaches geography, sustainable development, international cooperation, regional studies and interventions, as well as regional development. Marie Fall is responsible for the Laboratory for Applied Studies and Research on Africa. Her research projects and interventions focus on the challenges of international development, participatory governance of territories and resources, traditional knowledge, the vulnerability, adaptation and resilience of coastal communities to climate change, and living together in the regions. As part of her supervision activities, she is responsible for internships in international cooperation in Senegal. Marie Fall is heavily involved in community services related to her professional skills and social interests. She has been involved with a number of solidarity, humanitarian, humanist and inclusive organizations. She has also contributed to various regional and national institutions in connection with education, culture, living together, solidarity and cooperation, as well as to a number of international initiatives.
