Following a bachelor’s in chemical engineering at Polytechnique de Montréal, Stéphanie Viau pursued a Master’s in chemical engineering focusing on life cycle assessment of municipal solid waste at École Polytechnique de Montréal with CIRAIG and Research Chair on Advanced Waste Recovery. Through her Master’s work, she has gained significant experience in life cycle assessment of municipal solid waste and deeper knowledge of methodological issue surrounding the environmental quantification of recycling material. In parallel with her master’s work, she founded with other students PolyCarbone, an NPO specializing in the quantification of GHGs and behavioral changes in the university community. Since September 2018, she is project manager at the Research Chair on Advanced Waste Recovery.
