Philippe Gachon

Philippe Gachon has obtained his PhD in 1999 at UQAM in Environmental Sciences, followed by a post-doc (fisheries and Oceans Canada, Maurice Lamontagne Institute). From 2003 until 2014, he was a research scientist at Environment Canada within the Impacts and Adaptation Research Division and the Canadian Centre for Climate modelling and analysis of the climate research division. Since December 2014, he is Professor of hydro-climatology at UQAM, researcher of the ESCER centre (study and simulation of the climate at the regional scale) and the holder of the strategic research Chair on hydrometeorological risks under climate change. His expertise includes regional climate modeling, extreme weather, regional climate scenarios and hydrometeorological hazards and risks.
