Melanie is an Ilnu entrepreneur from the Mashteuiatsh community. She is vice president of Granules LG and president of Inukshuk Synergie. In business for more than 15 years, Melanie holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Laval University and a Certificate in Administration from UQAC. In 2015 Melanie was the first Aboriginal entrepreneur to graduate at the Beauce Entrepreneurship School. As a businesswoman, she no longer counts her implications, she has acted in different ways in recent years, as vice-president of the economic development company Ilnu, as co-chair of the Chamber of Commerce of Roberval. When involved, Melanie does not hesitate to say that she is Aboriginal, she advocates for women and first nations to develop win-win business partnerships because being Aboriginal is not a constraint, it’s an identity.
