Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Siechau studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH) and graduated in 1980. From 1980 to 1983, he wrote his doctoral thesis at the Institute of Nuclear Materials in the Nuclear Research Centre of Jülich. Between 1983 and 1994, he worked for various engineering companies. Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Siechau has been Managing Director of Stadtreinigung Hamburg since 1995 and Chairman of its management board since 2007. In addition, he is involved in promoting the development of young professionals. To this end, he has been regularly giving lectures on current waste management topics at the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH) since 2009. In 2013, he was appointed as Honorary Professor there. He is also active with various associations on an honorary basis, including EdDE and DGAW.
