Denis Millette | Moderator

Mr. Millette holds a Ph.D. (1995) in hydrogeology from the University of Waterloo, as well as an M.Sc. (1990) and a B.Sc. (1982) in agricultural engineering from McGill University. He worked as a Principal Hydrogeologist at SNC-Lavalin. He later joined NRC as a researcher. In 2000, he founded Hydrogéo Plus Inc., a firm offering consulting services, R&D expertise, as well as training in hydrogeology and site remediation. In 2003, the firm was acquired by Golder, where he held the position of Principal until 2018. He directed studies in environmental hydrogeology and management and remediation of contaminated sites, nationally and internationally. He also led various emergency response projects, including that of the Lac-Mégantic train derailment in 2013. In 2018, he became Senior Consultant at Golder. Mr. Milette has been a senior hydrogeologist at SNC-Lavalin since 2020. His role is to provide technical support on various projects and to participate in the development of hydrogeology and geothermal services. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at Polytechnique Montréal since 1996 where he teaches courses, conducts research, and supervises graduate students.
